Xeon Nehalem

if i have Two 2.26GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon "Nehalem" processors, does that mean i have 4.52GHz in my computer?

No.

The processor speed does not add up like straight math.
If you have one process running, you might get 2.26GHz speed.
If you have 8 processes running at the same time, you might get 2.26 GHz speed on all 8 of them.
If you have 16 processes running at the same time, you might get 1.13GHz speed on all 16 of them.(only 8 processors to process 16 tasks, so each task gets half of each processor on average).
So it's not straight math. Sometimes they add up, sometimes they don't add up. When they add up, there are some speed lost to do some control between them also.
