I need a new motherboard for my Macbook...?

I think I need a whole new motherboard for my Macbook but the place I brought it to quoted me $1,000. I checked eBay and have found some for between $200 and $500. Which information do I need to know that it will fit my Macbook exactly? I know that mine is a white 13" 2.0 ghz core 2 duo processor, but what about memory, USB ports, ethernet, etc etc. Please help, I am by no means an expert and I NEED my Macbook up and running ASAP. I miss it dearly!
I just have to argue with that. Macs blow PCs way out of the water in every conceivable aspect. What computer do you know can withstand a bottle of beer spilled into the keyboard? (btw, that was my boyfriend's fault). Anyways, now that I have had a taste of Macs (in school for 2 years, and now with my own personal laptop), it kills me to have to downgrade back to a PC

Notes

The MacBook's graphics chipset used a portion of main memory as VRAM. Though reported as a 64 MB graphics system, the chipset actually used a minimum of 80 MB of RAM, resulting in a maximum of 432 MB of RAM available for system use in the base system. The 1.83 GHz model had 2 MB of shared L2 cache and a 24x/24x/16x/8x CD-RW/DVD-ROM "Combo" drive.
